Kalico Dun  It is sired  by Hollywood Dun It, Hollywood Dun It is by the great Hollywood Jac 86 and out of Blossom Berry, an own daughter of Dun Berry. During his show career, Hollywood Dun It was the National Reining Horse Association Futurity Reserve Champion, the NRHA Derby Champion and the Superstakes Champion. A 2000 NRHA Hall of Fame inductee, the beautiful dun stallion is the NRHA's Leading All-Time Sire of Reining Horses, with sons and daughters whose earnings have surpassed the  $4Million mark!

Addinional Information: , He won the 1976 NCHA Futurity. This was considered to be one of the toughest Futurities in the history of the event as the field included such exceptional cutting horses as Freckles Playboy, Doc's Oak, Doc's Remedy, Doc's Hickory, Doc's Mahagany, Montana Doc, Wyoming Doc, Doc Athena and Smooth Herman. Colonel Lil, a daughter from his first foal crop, won the 1981 NCHA futurity. Though Colonel Freckles died in 1986, he is currently listed in 1997 issues of the Quarter Horse News as:
  • 1st leading paternal grandsire of reined cowhorses
  • 2nd leading maternal grandsire of reining horses
  • 4th leading paternal grandsire of reining horses
  • 14th leading maternal grandsire of reining cowhorses

The NRCHA has been influenced greatly by champion progeny of Colonel Freckles.  Nu Cash, a son of Colonel Freckles, was NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity World Champion and sired the '95,'96, and '97 NRCHA Snaffle Bit World Champions.  Nu Cash earned in excess of $100,000 in the NRCHA and NRHA and has been listed consistently as a leading sire of Working Cow Horses since 1995.   One of his sons, The Nu Colonel, was 1995 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity World Champion.  A son of Colonel Freckles, Charter Colonel, captured the NRCHA Open Bridle Year-End Championship for four years and also four times netted the AQHA Best of America's Horse award.  Typical of Colonel Freckles' influence on the Reined Cow Horse industry were the 1996 statistics: Colonel Freckles was the Number 1 Leading Paternal Grandsire and five of his sons were among the top 25 Leading Sires, including #1 Nu Cash and # 3 Just Plain Colonel.
